Brown's Car Stores and William E. Schuiling donated $1,000 to the 11th Annual Penney Girls Foundation Golf Outing on Friday, October 5, 2018. Mr. Schuiling regularly donates to a non-profit 501(c)(3) no-kill animal rescue and support group called Homeless Animals Rescue Team (HART). Incorporated in 1990, these amazing folks take in and rehome abused and unwanted dogs and cats so they can have better and happier lives with loving owners. So far in 2015 alone, Mr. Schuiling has donated enough to cover all the costs of saving and transporting nearly 200 dogs! These costs are normally covered by HART themselves, so we couldn't be more proud to be such a big help to the rescue group. If you'd like to learn more about the HART group, check out that link above. Karen and William E. Schuiling have made several generous donations to HART on behalf of Brown Automotive Group. They have donated almost $12,000 in 2017 alone to HART in their efforts to help make sure the rescued animals get the care they deserve. Mr. and Mrs. Schuiling continue to make monthly contributions to this worthy cause.
In 2016, Brown Automotive Group and William Schuiling raised $15,000 for breast cancer research! Brown's Car Stores and Virginia Select Auto partnered with local Susan G. Brown Automotive Group is a proud sponsor of the Police Unity Tour. In 2017 over 2,500 cyclists rode through the Northern Virginia area on their way to Washington, D.C. raising awareness for law enforcement officers that have died in the line of duty. The 2017 tour raised over $2.6 million dollars for The National Law Enforcement Officer's Memorial and Museum. We were honored to have Sgt. Sutherland present a plaque at the Brown Automotive Headquarters to our CFO Larry Palsha, CEO Danny Legge, and President Rachel Pullen.
A local high school teen battling cancer who wanted to create an initiative to promote a healthy and sustainable planet established Finley's 'Green Leap Forward' Fund. Karen and William E. Schuiling donated $5,000 to ensure that current generations and generations to come could live on a healthy planet while also raising awareness for people to give back to the environment.
