Toyota Motor Sales, U.S.A., Inc., unveiled the Prius family of vehicles today at the 2011 North American International Auto Show. In addition to the current third-generation Prius and Prius Plug-in Hybrid Vehicle (PHV), Toyota introduced the new Prius v midsize hybrid-electric vehicle .

With the expansion of the Prius family, a new evolution of vehicles will further increase the acceptance of hybrids with Prius' same core values of high fuel economy, low emissions, proven?

Top Safety Picks for 2011 Announced

The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) recognized 66 vehicles with its "top safety pick award" for the 2011 model year. It's the most-ever awarded by the group, more than doubling the 27 vehicles selected last year.

The big winners? Hyundai and VW, with 9 vehicles selected. Toyota was next with 8 vehicles picked. Subaru had 4 awards and Honda and Nissan received 2 awards each.
