Next month, Kia will start building a battery-powered version of its Soul compact in Korea. The 2015 Kia Soul EV will be Hyundai-Kia's first front-wheel-drive battery-powered EV export, with destinations including the United States and Europe. The Soul EV will have a 81-kilowatt electric motor, and its single-charge range is expected to be roughly 120 miles. Kia chose battery-powered cars, over fuel cell cars, as they can be charged both at home and at charging stations. The Soul EV was first shown off at the Chicago Auto Show in February 2014.
