According to some comments made to Auto Motor und Sport in Germany by Volkswagen, they are in the process of planning a new low cost sub brand of VW, specifically for emerging markets. Volkswagen has built low cost alternatives specifically for India in the past, which were priced around $9,300 USD, and they hope to keep the cost down while still offering features that are attractive to prospective buyers. Yesterday Subaru announced its new EyeSight system, which uses two windshield edge mounted cameras to monitor the road ahead. One of the coolest features in our opinion is the adaptive cruise control, which monitors the car in front of you at up to 87mph and adjusts the cruise control to maintain a safe distance!
