Honda Makes 10 Millionth Accord

Honda opened the first Japanese-owned car plant in 1982 in the United States. Many folks doubted the ability of American workers to build the cars a solidly was they were built in Japan. Kia Going "Green" with First Battery-Powered Car

Next month, Kia will start building a battery-powered version of its Soul compact in Korea. The 2015 Kia Soul EV will be Hyundai-Kia's first front-wheel-drive battery-powered EV export, with destinations including the United States and Europe. The Soul EV will have a 81-kilowatt electric motor, and its single-charge range is expected to be roughly 120 miles. Kia chose battery-powered cars, over fuel cell cars, as they can be charged both at home and at charging stations. The Soul EV was first shown off at the Chicago Auto Show in February 2014.

Consumer Reports Best in Class 2014 Revealed

Each year, Consumer Reports reveals the vehicles chosen as "best in class" for each category. The list has been revealed for 2014 and according to Consumer Reports, each vehicle "must rank at or near the top of its class in our overall test score." Each car must score an average or better reliability rating, which is based on the problems that Consumer‘s subscribers reported on 1.1 million vehicles in the latest Annual Auto Survey conducted by the Consumer Reports National Research Center, the publication said.
